Heather Roche

Canadian clarinetist Heather Roche trained in England (UK) and now lives in London (UK) after many years in Cologne (Germany). She has performed at some of the major European festivals, including the Muzički biennale Zagreb (Croatia), Musikfest Berlin (Germany), Bachfest Leipzig (Germany), Musica nova Helsinki (Finland), Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival (England, UK), Acht Brücken (Cologne, Germany), Wittener Tage für Neue Kammermusik (Witten, Germany), and Agora (Paris, France). She has also performed solo recitals with a number of electroacoustic music studios, including CIRMMT (Montréal, Québec) and BEAST (Birmingham, UK).

She is a permanent and founding member of the ensemble hand werk (Cologne), which now performs 15-20 concerts a year. She has also performed with Ensemble musikFabrik (Cologne), Ensemble Garage (Cologne), Ensemble Interface (Berlin), and ensemble proton (Bern, Switzerland).

Heather Roche holds a PhD from the University of Huddersfield, under the supervision of Philip Thomas. She completed her Masters of Music (Orchestral Training) in 2006 at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London (England, UK), studying under Joy Farrall and Laurent Ben Slimane, and conducting with Sian Edwards. She completed her BMus in 2005 at the University of Victoria (Canada), studying under Patricia Kostek.
