Gabriel Dufour-Laperrière lives and works in Montréal as a composer. His research focuses on the notion of musical kinetics, i.e. the dimensions related to directionality and dynamic forces perceptible in music. He also works to disseminate Lasse Thoresen’s aural sonology through various writings and conferences. He holds a doctorate in composition, completed with Denys Bouliane at McGill University’s Schulich School of Music. In 2010, he won first prize for his piece Plier-Déplier in the electroacoustic music category at the “Citta de Udine” competition, and has won three SOCAN awards.
