The second movement from the musicdrama Night of Enchantments composed in 1997 as a commission from the Swedish Broadcasting Corporation. The movement is based upon Proust’s marvellous love story Swann in Love — wherein Charles Swann meets his love, thedifficult and strange Odette. I wanted to create an acoustic shimmering and yet tragic soundworld. Almost like a Fabergé-egg. Fragile and yet so powerful, so beautiful, painful. The fabulous voices in this movement belongs to Ingmar Bergman-actors Tomas Pontén and Ewa Frøling (know from Bergman’s Academy Award-winning epic Fanny and Alexander).
