This work was written while working at EMS in Stockholm. It was inspired by a documentary I saw on Swedish television about Africa. Imagining the hot climate of Africa became a good mental escape from a winter in Sweden. This piece makes extensive use of processed acoustic instruments, voices, and pure electronic sounds. It depicts one night in the life of a pride of lions. Recent research into the habits of the African lion reveals a much more nocturnal animal than previously thought as it does the majority of its hunting at night. The original bass clarinet samples were provided by my friend, Matt Ingalls.
