For this piece, I worked with sound materials from Western world cinema, using its various support media (optical/sound films, VHS cassettes, DVDs) and sound recorded in cinemas during shows. My main attraction to this treatment/process is the rapport to the act of listening to cinema sounds, its clichés, tensions, releases, and sound effects, and the resulting range of emotions.

Lux pa¥ll€tte$ also echoes a reflection about how audience members will identify to specific actors or groups of the population, including in a potentially schizophrenic way, during a film projection (hallucination). So I tried to foster the emergence of psychic images where listeners could grab (or not) the elements offered to them, and then create their own sets, lighting, landscapes, and let the acoustic events carry them to the center of their own interpretations.

The first empirical creation phase proceeds from instinctive selections of music, effects, and comments.

Then, gradually, as one colour emerged from these sonic images, a meaning derived from the way the comments are edited together, I glimpsed a social critique through the prism of mainstream cinema.
