Brown and liquid like tea, that is the shape of this piece, my very first eight-channel composition. Suddenly, the sound editing software session, which stretched through years of work, started dripping all over the place and became blurry. Textures that used to slide nicely in the virtual stereo space got out of control. And yet, the experience of spatial listening seduced me and guided me through haphazard research, giving structure to my narrative, or so I hope!

Pieza en forma de té [Tea-shaped Piece] was realized in 1999 at the Métamorphoses d’Orphée studio of Musiques & Recherches in Ohain (Belgium) and was premiered on November 21, 1999 during the concert Créations octophoniques presented as part of the L’Espace du son festival at XL Théâtre du Grand Midi in Brussels (Belgium).
