La vie se repose has been performed in Karlsruhe…
In memoriam Oscar Wiggli (1927-2016), and his wife Janine (1933-2023)
La vie se repose was composed to mark the first anniversary of the passing of a friend, the Swiss sculptor and composer Oscar Wiggli (1927-2016). I used only sounds taken from his numerous recordings. The raw materials were not transformed or added to in any way. I wanted to respect the composer’s work and let its multiple facets shine.
La vie se repose [Life is Resting] was realized in January 2017 at the Studio du Québec in New York (USA) and was premiered on August 12, 2017 at Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie Karlsruhe (ZKM)’s ZKM_Kubus in Germany. Thanks to the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ) for its support.
