Different Tables, Immanent Fables

Different Tables, Immanent Fables has been performed in Montréal…

Different Tables, Immanent Fables is an improvised piece conceived for Jean-François Laporte, Émilie Girard-Charest, Bernard Falaise, Jean Derome, Joane Hétu, and myself, bringing together two Babel tables, a siren organ, an electric guitar, two saxophones, a flute, and voice. The piece unfolds as a succession of sonic tableaux with contrasting textures, within which instrumental solos emerge in turn. Like storytellers gathered around a fire, each performer takes the floor one after another, revealing their fragment of the narrative. These individual interventions shift the listener’s point of view and collectively give rise to a shared narration.
